Obsidian is always my go to for protection. Protection against the evil eye, protection against all sorts of negative energy. Obsidian is also an excellent stone for divination and prophesy. Also for dispelling fear, anger and resentment. Also an excellent stone for grounding and inner strength.
Tumbled stones are excellent for spell work. They can be slipped into a pocket, added to spell and charm bags, dream pillows, etc.
